Edible and Medicinal Plant Hike - Leaves, Stems and Buds Discover the Edible and Medicinal plants of Kananaskis country. Famous local ranchers once rode these hills at the turn of the century, often trapping with the Stoney people. This upland valley is rich in edible plants and habitat for deer, elk and Big Horn sheep.

Discover the Edible and Medicinal plants of Kananaskis Country. Captain John Palliser once found the Kootenai camped on the shores of Upper Kananaskis Lake. The rich and diverse plant varieties here and the abundant wildlife made this area a sustainable summer encampment. Explore the vegetation found at this sub-alpine lake and under the Fir trees on this NE facing slope.

Wildflowers of the Rockies

Ridge Walks

Summer Edibles in the Canadian Rockies
